Stanton Harcourt
My local village of Stanton Harcourt dates back to Saxon times, with Stanton meaning 'stone settlement'. The 'Harcourt' was added when Robert de Harcourt inherited the lands in 1191. The parish church, St Michaels, originates from the 12th century.
